Heeeeeey #KoKoPuffs ! Its been a while.....IKR! Please forgive me. I'm working on upgrading my technology, especially my laptop. I'm currently shopping around for the perfect bloggers device. So please bare with me. I should have a new laptop before months end. In the meantime, LETS GET DOWN TO BUSINESS FASHIONISTAS! Lets talk BOOTS!

Now typically, boot season in the average time frame, can span from late September until about the middle of April (if you include rain boot season). However, if you live in a state with unpredictable weather like I do (Chi-town stand up), boot season is more like early September - mid May. So here are a couple of tips on how to make the most of your boot season. I'm going to talk all about wide calf boot measurements, what time of the year is it best to wear specific styles of boots, and at the end I will give you the inside scoop on the hottest shoe site for boot season sales, and summer looks. When I say hot I mean SMOKING HOT! So hot that on my most recent website find, most of the shoes on the site are 10.88. 10.88!!! I know you are thinking........KOKO YOUR LYING! Well so you know, I WOULD NEVER LIE TO MY KOKO PUFFS! I would never recommend products, stores or sites to you that I don't use and I will always give my most honest reviews on everything I purchase. With that being said......lets get this boot party started.

Like many of my plus size divas, I to struggle with my wide calf muscles. Not only are my calf muscles wide but they are extremely muscular from marching in band for nine years of my life. Prior to about a year ago, all of the boots that had wide calf space were either ugly, or were boots that laced all the way up from the toes, with small tongues. With boots with small tongues, the boot was not wider, it just gave more room to open the shoe up because it had laces. The problem is that when you open the shoe up, after opening them so far you either run out of shoe lace so the lace did not come all the way up the boot, or the small tongue exposed your sock, or foot, and I mean, who wants that. I mean my socks are always clean, but the last thing I want is to have my socks exposed. Fast forward to today, and stores/websites like, Torrid, Charlotte Russe, Rainbow, Payless, Ashley Stewart and Lane Bryant have begun to create a wide version of many of there shoes, NOT ALL but many. Way more than usual! However, there are still some shoes that I wish came in a wide size, BUT for this blogs we are going to focus on the boots that do.

You can easily spot a wide version of a boot, a good fitting wide boot, by three main aspects. The first is the giant W next to the shoe size. For example, a size 11 wide shoe will be displayed as a 11W. The second key aspect is the zipper going down the inseam of the boot. The wide calf boot will almost always have a zipper that goes from the ankle to the top of the boot if it is a knee or thigh high, the foot to the calf, or the foot the ankle if its an ankle boot. The final aspect of a great fitting wide calf boot is the elastic band that will be located either near the zipper or along the back top of the boot. The more elastic the better! However, be mindful of how much additional stretch you may need because to much additional stretch can cause the boot to either constantly fall or to appear bulky. New edition wide calf boots may have a small slit in the back of the boot that holds a drawstring to expand and contract the boot. However, if the boot does not have a zipper along with this, it will still be extremely difficult to get your foot int. Take it from someone who knows. It is my opinion the perfect wide calf boot, has some form of a zipper, is labeled with the W size edition and either has expandable strings or a wide band in the rear. Two out of three of these aspects is not bad, but perfection lies in the third attribute.

Now, THIGH HIGHS ARE AMAZING! They make your legs appear extremely long, and are perfect with the short dresses, jeans or short shorts. Thigh high boots give the most basic of outfits sex appeal. They can take your outfit to a completely different level. They also look great with a very narrow pencil skirts or a cute skater skirt or dress. You can't go wrong with thigh highs.........UNTIL THE WEATHER GETS HOT! I would say by the first maaaabbbeeeyyyy second week in May, thigh highs are a no no, UNLESS it is a thigh high, high heel with a peep toe and the heel out. Be sure after May that your thigh high offers breathing room for your leg, or not only will your leg be hot, but you will have a very strange color to your leg, because it missed the tan that the sun gave to the rest of your body. I just want to say THIGH HIGHS ARE MY FAV!!

I enjoy a good calf high boots as well. Calf high boots can be worn with many of the same styles of clothing as thigh highs, however, knee highs in my opinion, if they don't have a heel, wont do much for the outfit, and should not be worn with extremely short bottoms. Unless they are riding boots with a pair of daisy dukes and a plaid or jean shirt. Calf highs can be a work shoe for a relaxed casual work environment, or just for everyday wear. They are great if your outfit is already poppin and in need of a finishing touch. With these boots, focus more on the color than the style. Think, everyday wear with knee high boots verses, now this boot is going to SET MY FIT OFF! These boots with a nice chunky heel though, changes to normal calf high boot to a bad ass boot, an everyone loves a bad ass boot.

Last on my list is the always cute ankle boot/bootie. I love all styles of ankle boots, especially suede ones. Ankle boots can be worn all year long because they go great with long and short materials, jean pants or shorts, and short and long dresses. This boot has the ability to set an outfit off depending on the cut and/ or color. They come in all styles and materials. From fur to leather, this boots dainty appearance is even cute on large feet. I would say every fashionista should have a pair or three of these in their closet. They are a win because they have no season limits. My only suggestion would be to adjust the footie or sock you wear, or don't wear with them. But they are always a killer.

FASHIONISTAS!!!! With our weather being so unpredictable across the U.S don't put your boots away just yet! On these random days above 60 degrees, throw on some thigh highs and a short bodycon dress with a leather jacket. When its a little cooler, put on your knee highs, with some cut up jeans and a blue jean shirt tied up, or a body suit, an anytime of the year throw on some ankle boots or booties......WITH DAMN NEAR ANYTHING!! Now fahionista, enjoy the website links below as well as the boot haul I've done located in the project section of my website(boots are already worn, not brand new). And remember to comment and invite others. SMOOCHES!!!
